Boiler problems are a common issue every year around autumn. Some residents are lucky enough to get away with some minor troubleshooting, like when an extra load is placed on the boiler due to central heating. Those of us who are familiar with common
boiler faults and how to fix them often save money because there's no requirement to call in a gas engineer. However, there are some common boiler faults which do require the services of qualified gas engineers because they can have a huge effect on your central heating's performance. These are listed alongside.
There could be a number of reasons for a leaking boiler. Too much water pressure, overheated water, a crack in one of the cast iron sections ... all are very common boiler faults which can play havoc with central heating systems and which require the services of a qualified engineer to address.
If the boiler is losing pressure, then there may be a leak in the central heating system. The common place to lose water is through the valve on the radiator.
Water heating is the main function of a boiler and it affects everything, from warming up that living room to making sure those plates get washed. There can be a number of reasons for this very common boiler fault and our gas engineers can take care of any one of them.
This is also a common boiler fault and it should always be corrected by a qualified gas engineer.
Boilers are made of different components and any one can play a part in the malfunction of a central heating system. If you need a team to provide a fix, Safe Gas are available to take care of it.
This is another common boiler fault that tends to occur in colder-than-normal winters. It's when the condensate in the pipe - which travels through the outer wall to the outer drain - freezes. A douse of hot water can usually remedy the issue but if this doesn't work, contact our team at Safe Gas and we'll get the problem sorted.
This can be due to imescale build-up in the heat exchanger, thereby causing the boiler to rumble. Noisy / gurgling / rumbling central heating pipes are also a result of limescale build-up in the pipes or air within the system. For a check-up, speak to our team today.
